Англичане прислали приглашение участвовать в их юбилейном 30-ом Чемпионате 24-25 августа.
Не думаю что выстроится очередь из желающих поэтому поленился переводить. Кто поедет сам переведет.
The Show by Modellers for Modellers
The Model Boat Convention 2019
President: Dr. Nicolas M. Jedynakiewicz D.L.,
Vice President: Paul Freshney
To Whom it May Concern
A Celebration of 30 Years of Model Making
24th & 25th August, 2019
Theme: Military and Civilian Vessels of the Second World War
The Committee met following the 29th Show and would like to invite you to join us for what we hope will be a very special event in 2019.
The Convention will be held over the Saturday and Sunday of the August Bank Holiday 2019, being 24th and 25th August with get in on Friday, 23rd August and I enclose a Club/Individual booking form for your use.
As most of you are aware we considered charging the exhibitors a minimal amount to attend. As the 2019 Show will be a Celebration of Thirty Years of Model Making no charge will be made but any donations towards the Show would be gratefully received.
The Committee make every effort to keep our costs down but they do escalate every year. In order to tailor our space requirements at the venue, without incurring unnecessary expense, it would be extremely helpful if you could indicate whether or not you propose taking a stand at the 2019 event by the 15th January. This is not a closing date for applications but give us
some indication of the space we need to book. Your assistance would be very much appreciated. Space will be booked following consideration of those we are aware of as attending at that time.
The criteria for display within the hall should be Model Boats or “Vehicles associated with boats”. This means that any vehicles/craft other than boats or vehicles associated with boats are welcome but must be displayed outside the hall and only with the prior agreement of the Convention Committee. The event is a “Model Boat” Convention.
I have negotiated a rate with the Holiday Inn, next door to Haydock Park for the 23rd and 24th August, 2019 at the rate of £120 per room per night for dinner bed and breakfast for a double or twin room. Unfortunately, single rooms will attract the same rate as they do not have dedicated single rooms in the hotel. If you wish to book under this arrangement the reservations line is 0871 942 9039 (I suggest option 4). You should then quote the block booking code of : MB1 . You do need to make bookings under the above scheme directly with the hotel and not on the internet. Early booking is advised. This offer will close on the 28th July, 2018.
However, as this is a considerable increase I contacted the Ibis Styles which is quite close to the Racecourse. They are offering us 20 rooms for each of the two nights - be it singles, doubles or twins as preferred by the person booking. All dependent upon availability. Once they have gone, or the rooms have been released then each booking will be taken as individual and best prices available will be quoted. These are bed and breakfast rates but there is a very nice pub just across the way from the hotel.
Prices offered are: Friday: £49 Single occupancy
£54 Double occupancy
Saturday: £65 Single occupancy
£75 Double occupancy
25% of the booked rooms will be taken away 90 days prior to arrival. 50% will be removed 60 days before the event. The offer will finish on the 23rd July.
Bookings can be cancelled up to 14 days prior to arrival. After this the full amount of the stay will be charged.
Any bookings for the IBIS need to be made through Joanne Amos on 0208 7957 750 or by email to
Joanne.amos@starboardhotels.com. All bookings are to Joanne with a vlid credit/debiut card. Payment to be done on arrival, and the card given will be charged in case of late cancellation or no show.
There is no space for camper vans etc., to overnight at Haydock Park but there is a local campsite

As usual we will have competitions and displays. It was felt that Military and Civilian Ships of the Second World War was a suitable follow on from last year‘s theme and also gave a very wide breadth of choice. We look forward to seeing a lot of competition models.
We would be very pleased to hear from you if you have a suggestion for an activity at the Convention or if you wish to give a display. Ribble are always looking for challengers at Tug
Football and suggestions were made this year of suitable boats for the purpose. Twelve months to prepare your challenge. Runcorn will challenge you with Bumper Boats!
We will again run a Chandlery and your support would be very much appreciated. The income generated in the Chandlery is a tremendous help towards the cost of running the event where, as I am sure you appreciate, costs continue to escalate.
We would reiterate that boats attending the Convention should be delivered to the stand on Friday between 1.p.m., and before 7.p.m., or on Saturday morning between 9 and 9.30.a.m. and should not depart until after the closing ceremony on the Sunday. The compound gates will be closed at 9.45.a.m., on Saturday and Sunday and not reopen until the event closes each day. The public pay to come in and have every right to a full display throughout the Convention period.
We take this opportunity of pointing out that Public Liability insurance will be provided by the venue but modellers are responsible for the insurance and security of their exhibits. You are also responsible for the safety of everything on or around your stand. Please ensure that valuables are hidden from view. It is imperative that any electrical equipment connected to mains electricity have been “PAT” tested or they cannot be used in the hall.
We are again running a special competition for Juniors and in order to give them time to build a boat I am enclosing an entry form. The choice of model is entirely up to them. I do hope you will be able to encourage your juniors to participate and any other children you may encounter during the course of the year.
I also enclose a Privacy Notice as the new regulations demand.
We can be contacted on 01492 583433, 07789 348817, 07808 989900 or email

Yours sincerely,
